TIME TO CHECK YOUR BIBLE!!

Why isn't the word "sodomite" in the NIV?
"Yea, hath God said?"  Gen. 3:1
The answer is because there were homosexuals (what the Bible terms "Sodomites" after the city of Sodom which God destroyed because of it's woeful wickedness) on the NIV translating committee. One such sodomite was Virginia Mollenkott. Another sodomite was the Chairman of the NIV Old Testament Committee!  The name of the sodomite?  Dr. Marten H. Woudstra (he's dead now).
Is it any wonder why the word "sodomite" is not in the NIV?  It doesn't require too much thinking.  Look below and see what they replaced the word "sodomite" with:
The King James Version:

KJV:  Deuteronomy 23:17- There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
The NIV has replaced the word "Sodomite" with "Shrine Prostitute." or "Male shrine prostitute."
 THE AUTHORIZED KING JAMES VERSION
1 Kings 14:24- And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
Here again and in other related Scriptures, the NIV has "Male shrine prostitutes."

**BUT THE "NEW  KING JAMES VERSION" the DARLING OF MANY "CONSERVATIVE  EVANGELICALS" also avoids the word SODOMITE in several places:

Deut. 17:23 has "PERVERTED ONE"

1 Kings 14:24; 15:12 & 22:46 has 'PERVERTED PERSONS." ???

From Spurgeon's MORNING & EVENING
                        May, 28th. Evening reading:

“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.”

 Lamentations 3:21

Memory is frequently the bond slave of despondency. Dispairing minds call to remembrance every dark foreboding in the past, and dilate upon every gloomy feature in the present; thus memory, clothed in sackcloth, presents to the mind a cup of mingled gall and wormwood. There is, however, no necessity for this. Wisdom can readily transform memory into an angel of comfort. That same recollection which in its left hand brings so many gloomy omens, may be trained to bear in its right a wealth of hopeful signs. She need not wear a crown of iron, she may encircle her brow with a fillet of gold, all spangled with stars. Thus it was in Jeremiah’s experience: in the previous verse memory had brought him to deep humiliation of soul: “My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me;” and now this same memory restored him to life and comfort. “This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.” Like a two-edged sword, his memory first killed his pride with one edge, and then slew his despair with the other. As a general principle, if we would exercise our memories more wisely, we might, in our very darkest distress, strike a match which would instantaneously kindle the lamp of comfort. There is no need for God to create a new thing upon the earth in order to restore believers to joy; if they would prayerfully rake the ashes of the past, they would find light for the present; and if they would turn to the book of truth and the throne of grace, their candle would soon shine as aforetime. Be it ours to remember the lovingkindness of the Lord, and to rehearse his deeds of grace. Let us open the volume of recollection which is so richly illuminated with memorials of mercy, and we shall soon be happy. Thus memory may be, as Coleridge calls it, “the bosom-spring of joy,” and when the Divine Comforter bends it to his service, it may be chief among earthly comforters.

The Word of God teaches that prior to the return of Jesus Christ to this earth, there will be a re-appearance, and a convergence of the characteristics of two periods of great wickedness, mentioned in the Old Testament times. History will repeat itself. It has a strange habit of doing so!

The days of Noah, and the days of Lot, will re-appear and converge at the end of this age.
** This is the teaching of Jesus Christ in   Luke 17:26-30

"And as it was in the days of Noe (Noah) so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man (the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ)
They did eat, they drank, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise also, as it was in the days of Lot, they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
But they same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
The abuse of marriage was a feature of the days of Noah. The unseemly, unnatural sin of lusting after those of the same sex [cf. Romans 1:23-32] was the feature of Lot's day, and has taken on the infamous name of 'Sodomy'. The Saviour says that these two sinful characteristics will reappear and converge prior to His second coming, cf. v30: Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. The Saviour is surely highlighting the point that the prevalent sins of the days of Noah and of the days of Lot will reappear and converge. How up to date therefore is the Word of God. It is ahead of its time. We presently live in an age when these sins are re-emerging and converging. Another feature of the days of Noah and Lot was the unbelief and indifference to the future. Those who lived in these times, mentioned by Jesus Christ, were unprepared for the coming judgment. It is these truths among others that the Saviour is holding up in Luke 17:26-30 as a warning. It is interesting to note that these recorded events of Old Testament history, though they be denied and/or explained away nowadays by man, are referred to here as facts. The rise of sodomy and the growing acceptance today of sodomite marriage is never a reason to throw off belief in the Word of God. Rather these developments give greater cause than ever to hold fast, to what we believe, for the Bible is being proved true before our very eyes. As the Saviour reminded us in Matthew 5:17,18: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The very "humble" "Vice Christ."
         POPE FRANCIS 1.

Pope Francis: Ecumenical Movement Is Taking Great Steps Toward Reconciliation, Peace Addressing CEC and CCEE, says closer we are to Christ, the more united we will be Vatican City State, May 07, 2015 (ZENIT.org) Staff Reporter | 1851 hits In the midst of ongoing conflicts, European Christians must intercede with prayer and work actively together toward peace and dialogue. Pope Francis said these words this morning in the Vatican when addressing the Joint Committee of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE). Noting how the committee intends to support the ecumenical journey in Europe, "where many of the divisions that still exist between Christians had their beginning," Francis said, “today, thank God, the situation is very different.” The ecumenical movement, the Pope stated, has enabled the Churches and the Ecclesial Communities in Europe "to take great steps on the way of reconciliation and peace.”" Initiatives--including the recent European Ecumenical Assemblies and the Charta Oecumenica, written in Strasbourg in 2001--are reasons "for great hope for surmounting the divisions, though in the awareness of the long way ahead towards the full and visible communion among all believers in Christ." Despite all its difficulties, moving forward in this way, he said, "is already an integral part of the process of reconciliation and of communion that the Lord asks of us and makes us fulfill." "The closer we are to Christ, the more we will be united among ourselves." Only by speaking with one voice, the Pope said, will the Churches and Ecclesial Communities in Europe be able to give effective answers to the new and decisive challenges they find themselves in today. "Facing the attitude with which Europe seems to address the dramatic and often tragic migration of thousands of persons fleeing from war, persecutions and misery, the Churches and Ecclesial Communities in Europe have the duty to collaborate to promote solidarity and hospitality," the Pope said. The Holy Father concluded thanking them for their ecclesial service, imparting his Apostolic Blessing, and reminding them to pray for him.

Pope Francis calls Terrorist-Honoring Abbas ‘angel of peace’

Pope Francis has met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Vatican, calling him “an angel of peace”.
The Pope made the remark as he presented the Palestinian leader with a medallion.
President Abbas is visiting the Vatican for the canonisation of two 19th-Century Palestinian nuns on Sunday.
His visit came days after the Vatican said it would formally recognise Palestinian statehood in a treaty.
The treaty states that the Holy See favours a two-state solution to the conflict with Israel and allows the Vatican to oversee aspects of Roman Catholic life in the areas President Abbas controls.
Israel expressed disappointment with the treaty, which uses the term “Palestinian state”.
The BBC’s David Willey in Rome says that after 20 minutes of private talks, Pope Francis gave Mr Abbas the medallion depicting an angel of peace adding: “It is appropriate because you are an angel of peace.”
It’s been documented time and again that Abbas Honors Terror Leaders.
Topping off a great week for the caliphate, the Vatican recognizes state of Palestine in new treaty.

Article fron SWORD & TROWEL

"We would ply the Trowel with untiring hand for the building up of Jerusalem's dilapidated walls, and wield the Sword with vigour and valour against the enemies of the Truth.

Witchcraft in a Modern Guise

From The Sword & Trowel 2011, issue 1 by Dr Peter Masters
IN REVIEWING the sins of the flesh (in Galatians 5.19-21) the apostle mentions witchcraft, often today translated sorcery. He actually uses a word which we have in English, although for us it has a much nobler meaning.
The Greek word is a form of our word ‘pharmacy’. Obviously, no Bible translation would use this term, because for us it denotes a healing profession, not a sin of the flesh. So in what way were the sorcerers and witches of olden times involved in pharmacy?

Henry Grattan Guinness
                                              On Popery.....

I see the great Apostasy, I see the desolation of Christendom, I see the smoking ruins, I see the reign of monsters; I see those vice-gods, that Gregory VII, that Innocent III, that Boniface VIII, that Alexander VI, that Gregory XIII, that Pius IX; I see their long succession, I hear their insufferable blasphemies, I see their abominable lives; I see them worshipped by blinded generations, bestowing hollow benedictions, bartering lying indulgences, creating a paganized Christianity; I see their liveried slaves, their shaven priests, their celibate confessors; I see the infamous confessional, the ruined women, the murdered innocents; I hear the lying absolutions, the dying groans; I hear the cries of the victims; I hear the anathemas, the curses, the thunders of the interdicts; I see the racks, the dungeons, the stakes; I see that inhuman Inquisition, those fires of Smithfield, those butcheries of St. Bartholomew, that Spanish Armada, those unspeakable dragonnades, that endless train of wars, that dreadful multitude of massacres. I see it all, and in the name of the ruin it has brought upon the Church and in the world, in the name of the truth it has denied, the temple it has defiled, the God it has blasphemed, the souls it has destroyed; in the name of the millions it has deluded; the millions it has slaughtered, the millions it has damned; with holy confessors, with noble reformers, with innumerable martyrs, with the saints of the ages, I denounce it as the masterpiece of Satan, as the body and soul and essence of Antichrist.
(And there are those today who foolishly look for another, and still future, Antichrist! They look for some Jewish, or Communist, or Muslim leader, who supposedly will be a more evil individual than that evil dynasty, the long succession of Roman popes through the centuries!)

The book (featured at left) "THE FOUNDATIONS UNDER ATTACK" by Michael de Semlyen, deals with the "popular and modern" version of prophecy.
However, the Pilgrim Church, Reformers, Puritans and later men of God, including C. H. Spurgeon, Dr. H. Grattan-Guinness, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, J. C. Ryle, and other present day men of God, (including the author of the book featured) have a different  view.
Today, the Pope has been acquitted by the modern church, of the title he held for centuries past. WHY & WHO? Where and by whom did this "NEW" teaching emanate? It only gained popularity in the mid 1800's.

Cardinal Manning, a convert to Roman Catholicism from the Church of England, spoke to the Jesuit "fathers" in this stirring fashion, regarding the REVISION OF SCRIPTURE - by the RSV committee, which supported this "new teaching."

Quote: "Great is the prize for which you strive. Surely a soldier's eye and a soldier's heart would choose by intuition this field of England. None ampler or nobler could be found. It is an head of Protestantism (the KJV) the centre of its movements and the stronghold of its power. Weakened in England, it is paralysed elsewhere. Conquered in England, it is conquered throughout all the world. Once overthrown here, all else is a war of detail. All the roads of the world meet in one point, and this point reached, all the world is open to the (Roman Catholic) church's will."

It is now sadly, "Mission Accomplished!"
